All students are considered to be at school during lunchtime no matter where they eat -
off-campus, inside a classroom, or outside. Thus, all school rules still apply. Students are expected to clean up their lunch trash. There is no smoking during lunch, whether one is at the school or off-campus.
No cafeteria facilities are available, so please plan lunches and snacks accordingly. There are microwaves available for quick cooking. Students can order lunches in the office before 8:55 from Subway, a Chinese restaurant, or several pizza places. Students are not allowed to have other students bring food back to them from the lunch van run.
Students may not drive to lunch without permission of an administrator.
Because we encourage recycling and are conscious of our effect on the environment, we ask that you send in reusable containers if possible. Students should recycle cans and bottles in the appropriate receptacles.
Lunch Van
High school students in good standing are allowed to ride the van to lunch at Turnpike Shopping Center. A schedule of students who want to eat out will be created as needed. The lunch van runs are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The van leaves for lunch at 12:20 and returns to school at 12:55.
One or two eateries will be designated each day by the teacher/driver. Students are expected to stay at their chosen eating location until it is time to board the van to return to school. Any deviations from this MUST be approved by the teacher/driver. Failure to comply with the rules set forth by the teacher/driver will result in loss of lunch van privileges and possible suspension.
Students riding the lunch van are not allowed to bring food back to other students. Students are responsible for cleaning the van after each lunch run. Students will not be allowed to leave the van until it is clean. Failure to do so will result in a one-day suspension of van use by all students.
