Student Portfolios

Students are required to collect the following items by the time they are juniors. They will have at least one portfolio item assigned for each of their classes.

1. A research paper w/research question, bibliography, and footnotes

2. An argumentative essay (5-paragraphs, typed, w/thesis statement)

3. A science experiment w/lab report

4. A demonstration of mathematics

5. A demonstration of foreign language

6. An example of creative work

7. An essay test in the humanities that demonstrates the ability of a student to respond in the moment to thought-provoking questions

8. A visual illustration of ideas (multimedia project or illustration)

9. Documentation of 60 hours of community service work

10. A comprehensive, categorized book list that demonstrates the breadth of the student’s academic readings

11. Any other object or activity (documented) that the student feels represents his or her high school achievement

12. An Exhibition that demonstrates the student’s ability to construct and perform a skillful exhibition—description needed.
