New School Academics
Academics at The New School are intrinsic to what sets us apart from other private preparatory schools in the DC metro area. Our subject area electives allow students to satisfy specific requirements by choosing from a number of specialty topics. Students thus have the ability to tailor the curriculum to their interests, which provides for self determination and autonomy within a learning environment where all requirements are met.
It is not uncommon for our students to say that they enjoyed school for the first time in their lives when they came to study with us. Relationships with teachers are dynamic and deeply supportive, different learning styles are embraced as an enhancement to our learning environment, and students play a creative and integral role in developing school policy through a variety of leadership roles.
