Grade Point Averages (GPA)
Grade points are computed on a 4 point scale with "AP" Courses
awarded an extra quality point due to the difficult nature of the material.
Although we do not give credit for D's, D grades do earn 1 quality point.
These computations are based on 1 full credit in a course - courses at The
New School which are offered for less than a full credit basis are evaluated
on a proportional system. Thus the quality points awarded by grade are:

The New School reports the student GPA for classes taken at The New School,
as well as any previously reported GPAs from other schools. Because of the
difficulties of meshing differing credit and grade schemes together, an overall
GPA is given only for time spent at The New School, and does not include work
at other institutions.
